So what is our aim with this eBook?
It’s simple: inspiration and preparation.

For such a wide range of adventures that will take you all over the globe, your Karibu watch will be prepared for any endeavour - but how do you prepare yourself?
Tips & Advice for People Traipsing the Globe
Patience is Key
Things are going to go wrong when travelling the world, so be patient and take them in your stride - it could always be worse!
Back Everything Up
When traipsing the globe, things may get lost or stolen, so backing up your important things is a smart move. Keep both digital and physical copies of your passport, visas, driver’s license, birth certificate, health insurance policy or card, and any serial numbers or phone numbers that you may need in case of an emergency. Trust us when we say you’ll be glad that you did!
Always Try to Learn Basic Phrases in the Local Language
Travelling to a different country can be one hell of a culture shock so it’s always useful to learn some basic phrases that you may need. Simple things like “Hello,” “Yes,” “No” and “Thank you” are a great way to be respectful to the locals, but you could also try to learn some phrases such as “Do you speak English?” or “Where is the…?” if you really want to impress.
Always Carry Cash
Having cash on you at all times is great in an emergency. If you lose your wallet, the ATM is out of order or you are in a situation where you can’t use your card, you’ll be glad that you did.
Be Smart with Your Packing
Packing for a different climate as well as a plethora of adventures can be difficult, especially if you don’t know what you will be doing, so what do you do? The best thing to do is to pack clothing items that you can layer as these are suitable for both hot and cold weather, and always try to pack items that can be useful for multiple purposes.
Meet Local People
Wherever you can, try to start conversations and make friends with local people. They have the best knowledge of their city or country, so can offer inside recommendations on where to go and what to eat. Plus these conversations often lead to kind gestures that make for some great stories!
Don’t Worry Be Happy!
Things will go wrong when you travel, no matter how much you plan, but that’s just a part of the adventure! In these times, make the most of it - have fun, laugh at yourself, wake up early and make the most of the day, take lots of photos, take your time and enjoy every moment.
Travelling will open your mind and give you a brand new perspective on life - this is why we hope to advocate it and inspire people to explore the world! All you need to do now is to step outside your comfort zone and embrace these new experiences.
So, you’re prepared for anything and everything with these tips and your trusty Karibu watch, now you just need to get inspired!
With our eBook, we hope to get those travel juices flowing to inspire you to get out into the world and take advantage of all these amazing experiences just waiting to be had. We want to show you that, just like our Karibu watch, you can go above and beyond what you think you’re capable of.
